Creating a secure application environment requires integration of existing user identity dinformation. For some companies, that information is contained in databases. Others use LDAP directories or Windows Domains. For most, this information is scattered across multiple locations and multiple services. Oracle Virtual Directory provides Internet and industry-standard LDAP and XML views of existing enterprise identity information, without synchronizing or moving data from its native locations. This accelerates the deployment of applications and reduces costs by eliminating the need to constantly adapt those applications to a changing identity landscape as user populations are added, changed, or removed.

Step 2. Launch VNC service on the host server. 

Step 3. run installer under vnc screen.

There are 2 ways to do it. You can either Install and configure right away or you can install first then configure later. I will describe the 2 ways here. There is really no better way to do it, its a matter of preference. I personally want everything to be in specific folders so its cleaner and less confusing so I do the latter method.

Method 1 - Install and Configure

   # cd Disk1
   # ./runInstaller –ignoreSysPrereqs

Install and Configure

Create a new domain. Input admin user, password and name.

Fill in according to your environments.

Uncheck "I wish to receive security updates via My Oracle Support. 

Check "Oracle Virtual Directory"

You can choose "Auto Port Configuration" 

Fill in Name Space, admin User name and password.

Review configuration summary.

Run the oracleRoot.sh command as root
